Vision Screenings
During the year, all students will receive a vision screening for free during the school day. Vision screenings are opt-out events, so if you DO NOT want your child to be screened by the doctor, you should return the form that will be distributed later in the school year to the Community School Director, Ms. Menendez (CM4007@tc.columbia.edu).
Any students who need eyeglasses will have a chance to select frames and will receive glasses for free.
Dental Screenings
Twice a year, SMILE dental will arrange for dentists to visit the school. Students will be able to sign up for cleanings and dental check-ups. Later in the year, any students who need restorative care will be scheduled for an additional date at the school. Dental screenings are opt-in, so if you DO WANT your child to see the dentist, please return the screening form or sign up online here.
